        In the pages of The Biscuit Dive Guide are the biscuit making ways of the South.  The book chronicles  the best biscuit makers in the South who are keeping the art of homemade biscuit making alive.  The Dive Guide is filled with their biscuit tips, tricks, and recipes. The book is like a travel guide, broken down into states so you can visit these Southern biscuit eateries as you travel, or simply use the book as a biscuit recipe book.   The recipes range from the simple three ingredient biscuit, to elaborate detailed recipes that bring basic biscuits to new heights.  No matter, they all are so good.

  It is through my film and work in writing The Biscuit Dive Guide that I have embraced the art of homemade biscuit making and I hope you do too.

  The Rise of the Southern Biscuit continues to  bring me joy.  Every time I watch the documentary, I see my biscuit making friends who are such wonderful people to share their love of Southern culture and biscuit baking with me and you.  I was honored when viewers of PBS and the Documentary Channel embraced my labor of biscuit love.  This film was my first independent project. I researched, wrote, directed, and produced it..even shot some of the footage, which I have never done before.

    I was so honored when the film won five awards: Two Emmy’s and Three Telly awards.  It is fun film that makes you want to eat and bake biscuits.  More than anything --  it showcases the magic of this culinary icon of the South.  I hope it inspires you to bake biscuits for the people you love.  It has done that for me.

  I’m working now on the sequel to The Rise of the Southern Biscuit.  I just take my camera and go.  I can’t wait to share all the fun people and appetizing things I discover along the way.
